Rules and Reminders
1. First team listed is the home team and must sit on the
right of the score table. (Facing the table from the floor)
2. Home team should wear light colors.
3. 20 minute halves. Running clock
4. Mercy Rule: If a team leads by 20 or more points with 6
minutes or less to go in the game, a running clock will
occur. If a team leads by 30 or more points at any time
during the game a running clock will occur. The clock
will only stop for Time Outs.
5. A maximum of 2 coaches will be allowed on the bench.
6. Teams must provide their own warm-up basketballs.
7. Time Outs: (2) 30 second and (2) 1 minute per Game.
8. Half-time will be a minimum of 5 minutes.
9. Press Defense: Teams may not press full court once they are up 15 points in either half. If the point
difference returns to 14 or less a team may return to their press defense. Defense must
get back beyond the half court line. 1st offense= warning, 2nd offense=Technical foul. 3rd
offense=Technical foul and coach is ejection for the rest of the game.
10.Overtimes will be 2 minutes. One 30 sec Timeout will be
added. 2nd OT is sudden death (first team to score at least 1
point).
11. Girls and Boys jv (5th/6th) will use a 28.5" ball. Boys Var will use a 29.5" ball.
